DataVaulting

Datavaulting is online, off-site backup of all your corporate data assets, eliminating the need for manual tape backups. Backing up mail, print and database servers in addition to user desktops and laptops with DS3 DataVaulting dramatically reduces the time to restore and removes anxiety about the unreliability of damaged, lost or corrupted magnetic tapes.

DS3 DataVaulting is an off-site, on line, real-time network backup & restore service. We protect a company’s entire enterprise including workstations, file servers, databases, and email systems. Our service eliminates the need for manual tape backups. Secure remote backups and restores are performed by DS3 using the Internet or through dedicated communication. Our customer's data is vaulted in at&t's secure, fault-tolerant data centers. DS3's strategic relationship with at&t gives us the opportunity to choose from their vast menu of services as we design custom solutions for our customers. Our strict data management practices, coupled with our automatic (i.e. no human intervention) off-site storage, positively impacts our customers’ disaster recovery/business continuity strategy.

Technical Specifications

Back Up:

  • Gateway backs up any computer it can access - no agents involved.
  • All data is encrypted (up to AES256)
  • Multiple compression algorithms
  • Delta-blocking reduces data amounts

 
Restore:

  • Latest version of all files, databases and mail stores are available locally on the Gateway
  • Previous versions of data are available on the DS3 DataVault
  • To support full DR efforts, DS3 will ship a new Gateway and/or portable DataVault to your site or a DR site

Management:

  • Logs, reports and alerts provide backup or recovery status.
  • DS3 is constantly monitoring jobs in our NOC
